This is the final design for the dress.

The foundation for this dress is a very full skirt made of blue tulle and purple net. I made the underskirt out of a two-tone dupioni silk. Originally the silk was too pink so I dyed it with a blue dye light enough not to affect the blue fibres and thus made the pink more of a purple. The over skirt is black bridal lace.

The corset was made by Gallery Serpentine. It is a spanish harlot style out of purple cross brocade and black velvet.

I made the overdress in black velvet lined with the same silk as the underskirt. Around the opening I have beadwork done with 10mm margritas, oval rhinestones and various 4mm beads all Swarovski heliotrope.

This is the original design I did for my wedding dress. I had to make significant changes to this design because I couldn't quite settle on some of the fabrics I originally had in mind.

I abandoned the slashed sleeves mostly because of time/frustration constraints. I made the ruffles on the lower part of the sleeve shorter because it would be less in the way and because I usually wear 3/4 length sleeves anyway.
